3 November 2024 – ‘ET2020/24’ catalogue presentation at Artissima

The Fondazione La Rocca announces the presentation at Artissima of Eugenio Tibaldi’s book ET2020/24, which he produced for the exhibition of the same name in Pescara (6 July – 12 October 2024). Published by Cura.Books, the book will be presented on Sunday 3 November at 12:30 pm at the Meeting Point at the Oval Lingotto Fiera in Turin. With essays by Francesca Guerisoli, Marco Scotini, Giuseppe D’Anna and Ivan Bargna, ET2020/24 is the result of a publishing experiment that includes an exhibition catalogue, monograph and artist’s book and documents Eugenio Tibaldi’s production between 2020 and 2024, offering an in-depth look at his stylistic and conceptual evolution.

9 November 2024 – Inauguration of Giuseppe Tornatore’s ‘Indiscretions’ exhibition

The foundation is hosting in the first room Indiscretions by Giuseppe Tornatore, an exhibition of 28 photographs by the Oscar-winning director curated by Stefano Schirato, produced and organised by Mood Photography as part of the FLA Festival of Books and Other Things. The exhibition will open on Saturday 9 November 2024 at 19:30 and will remain open until 20 December 2024. An overview of the images taken by Tornatore in the 1970s depicting the daily life of his Sicily amidst popular festivals and street scenes is flanked by the reportage he made in Siberia in 1999 on commission for Italgas.

15 November 2024 – Inauguration of Gaia De Megni’s ‘Leitmotiv’ exhibition

Leitmotiv is Gaia De Megni’s first major solo exhibition, curated by Francesca Guerisoli, which will open at Fondazione La Rocca on Friday 15 November 2024 at 6pm and will remain open until 24 January 2025. De Megni uses sculpture, video and performance to explore cinema as a tool for constructing social identities. The exhibition includes seven never-before-seen mixed media installations that reflect on his home territory, a Ligurian location suspended between authenticity and stereotypical narrative. With an autobiographical approach, the artist deconstructs cultural and historical codes, inviting the audience to explore the ‘non-visible’ and the possibilities of error in contemporary narration.
