Leitmotiv is Gaia De Megni’s first solo exhibition centred on an autobiographical reflection of her research. The exhibition, curated by Francesca Guerisoli, opens at Fondazione La Rocca on Friday 15 November 2024 at 6pm and will remain open until 24 January 2025. De Megni uses sculpture, video and performance to explore cinema as a tool for constructing social identities. The exhibition includes seven never-before-seen mixed media installations that reflect on his home territory, a Ligurian location suspended between authenticity and stereotypical narrative. With an autobiographical approach, the artist deconstructs cultural and historical codes, inviting the audience to explore the ‘non-visible’ and the possibilities of error in contemporary narration.
